Wild West Campground and Corral
We decided to try a campground closer to Waupaca where Mark's brother Fred was living. We just took Fannie, not the big 5th wheel. This is a nice, quiet park with a lot of long-term guests and quite a few sites for people like us. Tucked far off Highway 54 so no road noise. They host kid horse riding camps!
Things to see
Almond Tater Toot
We have written about this event many times. This is Mark's home town summer festival. He did not play this year but still helped out with the family car show in honor of his brother Greg. This year, Mark got his picture in one of the local newspapers as he was judging cars.
Wausau Music In The Park
This happens at the "400 Block" in the heart of Wausau. We met Mark's college friends Ron & Julie and Dave & Yvonne. Fun music this week, lots of food and drink trucks around. A very nice night for sitting outside listening to music.
Food
El Cafe (Port Edwards)
Just outside Wisconsin Rapids is this city of Port Edwards. The cafe was very good and our waitperson was such a smart-aleck and so much fun.
KRB BBQ (Waupaca)
Wonderful BBQ joint. Mark's nephew Troy joined us as we took Mark's brother Fred out for lunch. There is also a KRB in Wautoma.
Wheel House (Waupaca)
Long-time and well-known restaurant on the Chain Of Lakes outside Waupaca. It was nice enough to sit outside. They have great pizzas.
Waupaca Woods Restaurant
This restaurant is in what was once known as the Waupaca Mall. Very good food and large portions. We all took some home.
